# 3Cat vs Playz

The clearest difference is rating: Playz at 3.7 against 3Cat's 2.3. Playz also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). 3Cat's advantage is review sentiment (35% vs 0%) and ratings volume (11 vs 3). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Playz holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of 3Cat's written reviews are positive against 0% of Playz's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

3Cat ships an update every 6 weeks, Playz every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
