# BrainPOP vs Elementary School for Kids

The clearest difference is ratings volume: BrainPOP at 34K against Elementary School for Kids's 42. BrainPOP also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Elementary School for Kids's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BrainPOP sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Elementary School for Kids sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BrainPOP holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BrainPOP has 34K ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BrainPOP ships an update every 2 months, Elementary School for Kids every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
