# BrainPOP vs Unsung AR

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Unsung AR at none against BrainPOP's 5. Unsung AR also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). BrainPOP's advantage is ratings volume (34K vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BrainPOP sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Unsung AR asks for nothing beyond the download.

Unsung AR holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BrainPOP has 34K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
