# Documents vs HaloVPN Pro

The clearest difference is ads: Documents at none against HaloVPN Pro's shown. Documents also leads on ratings volume (632K vs 18K) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Documents sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and HaloVPN Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Documents holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Documents has 632K ratings behind it against 18K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Documents's written reviews are positive against 78% of HaloVPN Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Documents ships an update every 6 days, HaloVPN Pro every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
