# Calculator Max vs Calculator Smart

The clearest difference is ads: Calculator Max at none against Calculator Smart's shown. Calculator Max also leads on review sentiment (55% vs 36%) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 494). Calculator Smart's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and device support (6 vs 4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calculator Max sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year and Calculator Smart sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calculator Smart holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.8K and 494 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Calculator Max's written reviews are positive against 36% of Calculator Smart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
