# Blue Letter Bible vs Scripture Before Scroll

The clearest difference is update cadence: Scripture Before Scroll at every 4 days against Blue Letter Bible's every 5 weeks. Blue Letter Bible's advantage is ratings volume (359K vs 32) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Blue Letter Bible holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blue Letter Bible has 359K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Blue Letter Bible's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scripture Before Scroll's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Blue Letter Bible ships an update every 5 weeks, Scripture Before Scroll every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
