# DJ SoundBox Pro vs Drum Pad Machine

The clearest difference is price: Drum Pad Machine at Free against DJ SoundBox Pro's $1.99. Drum Pad Machine also leads on review sentiment (63% vs 34%) and ratings volume (675K vs 1). DJ SoundBox Pro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On update cadence, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Drum Pad Machine is free to download; DJ SoundBox Pro costs $1.99 up front. DJ SoundBox Pro sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Drum Pad Machine sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DJ SoundBox Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drum Pad Machine has 675K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of DJ SoundBox Pro's written reviews are positive against 63% of Drum Pad Machine's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DJ SoundBox Pro ships an update every 2 months, Drum Pad Machine every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
