# Facemakr vs Bubble for Mastodon

The clearest difference is price: Bubble for Mastodon at Free against Facemakr's $2.99. Bubble for Mastodon also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Facemakr's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 50%) and ratings volume (35 vs 1). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Bubble for Mastodon is free to download; Facemakr costs $2.99 up front. Facemakr sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Bubble for Mastodon sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bubble for Mastodon holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Facemakr has 35 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Facemakr's written reviews are positive against 50% of Bubble for Mastodon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Facemakr ships an update every 3 months, Bubble for Mastodon every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
