# Forever 21 vs Rainbow Shops

The clearest difference is monetization model: Forever 21 at free against Rainbow Shops's free with in-app purchases. Forever 21 also leads on ratings volume (474K vs 42K) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Rainbow Shops's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 55%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Forever 21 against 4.9 for Rainbow Shops. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forever 21 has 474K ratings behind it against 42K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 55% of Forever 21's written reviews are positive against 73% of Rainbow Shops's.

Forever 21 ships an update every 5 weeks, Rainbow Shops fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
