# PG Reader vs Hilltop News

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hilltop News at 100% against PG Reader's 32%. Hilltop News also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 18.0). PG Reader's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (2.3K vs 11). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PG Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PG Reader has 2.3K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of PG Reader's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hilltop News's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
