# Password Generator X vs VPN

The clearest difference is ads: VPN at none against Password Generator X's shown. VPN also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 11 months). Password Generator X's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 61) and review sentiment (74% vs 63%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Password Generator X sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Password Generator X against 4.7 for VPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Password Generator X has 1.3K ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 74% of Password Generator X's written reviews are positive against 63% of VPN's.

Password Generator X ships an update every 11 months, VPN every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
