# PrankDial vs The Timeline

The clearest difference is rating: PrankDial at 4.7 against The Timeline's 4.0. PrankDial also leads on ratings volume (88K vs 4). The Timeline's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 12) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PrankDial sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. The Timeline asks for nothing beyond the download.

PrankDial holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PrankDial has 88K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of PrankDial's written reviews are positive against 50% of The Timeline's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PrankDial ships an update every 4 weeks, The Timeline daily. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
