# PDF Reader vs PDF Scanner Pro ⊟

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Reader at 81% against PDF Scanner Pro ⊟'s 40%. PDF Reader also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). PDF Scanner Pro ⊟'s advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Reader sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PDF Scanner Pro ⊟ sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Scanner Pro ⊟ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3.5K and 6.1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of PDF Reader's written reviews are positive against 40% of PDF Scanner Pro ⊟'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Reader ships an update every 2 months, PDF Scanner Pro ⊟ fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
