# Flashcard Machine vs Spanish Flashcards

Flashcard Machine and Spanish Flashcards both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of Flashcard Machine's written reviews are positive against 35% of Spanish Flashcards's. Flashcard Machine also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flashcard Machine sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Spanish Flashcards sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spanish Flashcards holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 79 and 167 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Flashcard Machine's written reviews are positive against 35% of Spanish Flashcards's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flashcard Machine ships an update every 2 months, Spanish Flashcards every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
