# Uber vs Airbnb

Uber and Airbnb both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 69% of Uber's written reviews are positive against 14% of Airbnb's. Uber also leads on ratings volume (17M vs 703K) and chart position (#1 vs #3). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Uber against 4.8 for Airbnb. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Uber has 17M ratings behind it against 703K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 69% of Uber's written reviews are positive against 14% of Airbnb's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
