# Uber vs Kero Driver

The clearest difference is monetization model: Kero Driver at free against Uber's free with in-app purchases. Kero Driver also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). Uber's advantage is ratings volume (17M vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Uber against 5.0 for Kero Driver. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Uber has 17M ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Uber ships an update weekly, Kero Driver monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
