# Dhol vs Tabla

The clearest difference is ads: Dhol at none against Tabla's shown. Dhol also leads on review sentiment (91% vs 63%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.6). Tabla's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 155). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dhol sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Tabla sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dhol holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tabla has 1.2K ratings behind it against 155, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 91% of Dhol's written reviews are positive against 63% of Tabla's.

Dhol ships an update every 7 months, Tabla every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
