# iPreFlight Genesis vs GenDec

The clearest difference is update cadence: GenDec at every 6 days against iPreFlight Genesis's every 3 weeks. iPreFlight Genesis's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iPreFlight Genesis sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year and GenDec sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iPreFlight Genesis ships an update every 3 weeks, GenDec every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
