# Quick Diary vs Whelm

The clearest difference is rating: Whelm at 5.0 against Quick Diary's 2.6. Whelm also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). Quick Diary's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 2) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Quick Diary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Whelm sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whelm holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quick Diary has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Quick Diary ships an update every 5 weeks, Whelm every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
