# Bar Talk vs Goguma IRC

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Bar Talk at 100% against Goguma IRC's 42%. Bar Talk also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Goguma IRC's advantage is rating (3.6 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 6 months vs every 37 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Bar Talk costs $0.99 and Goguma IRC $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Goguma IRC holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Goguma IRC has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Bar Talk's written reviews are positive against 42% of Goguma IRC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bar Talk ships an update every 37 months, Goguma IRC every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
