# MATLAB Mobile vs IEEE EMBC

The clearest difference is update cadence: IEEE EMBC at every 5 weeks against MATLAB Mobile's every 3 months. IEEE EMBC also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MATLAB Mobile ships an update every 3 months, IEEE EMBC every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
