# Pipe Tools vs Quel

The clearest difference is update cadence: Quel at every 5 days against Pipe Tools's every 36 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pipe Tools sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Quel sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pipe Tools ships an update every 36 months, Quel every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
