# DIVE Magazine vs krakentools

The clearest difference is update cadence: krakentools at every 8 days against DIVE Magazine's every 7 months. krakentools also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DIVE Magazine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per year and krakentools sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DIVE Magazine ships an update every 7 months, krakentools every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
