# AnkiMobile Flashcards vs MetaWear

The clearest difference is price: MetaWear at Free against AnkiMobile Flashcards's $24.99. MetaWear also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.0). AnkiMobile Flashcards's advantage is ratings volume (2.4K vs 1) and chart position (#1 vs unranked). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

MetaWear is free to download; AnkiMobile Flashcards costs $24.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MetaWear holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AnkiMobile Flashcards has 2.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of AnkiMobile Flashcards's written reviews are positive against 50% of MetaWear's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
