# Piano Notes Pro vs Note Quest

The clearest difference is price: Note Quest at Free against Piano Notes Pro's $2.99. Note Quest also leads on rating (4.5 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (624 vs 16). Piano Notes Pro's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 52%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.6). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Note Quest is free to download; Piano Notes Pro costs $2.99 up front. Piano Notes Pro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Note Quest sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Note Quest holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Note Quest has 624 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Piano Notes Pro's written reviews are positive against 52% of Note Quest's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Piano Notes Pro ships an update every 2 months, Note Quest every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
