# 8player vs SubPlayer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SubPlayer at 100% against 8player's 43%. SubPlayer also leads on rating (5.0 vs 2.8). 8player's advantage is ratings volume (168 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 8player sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year and SubPlayer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SubPlayer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.8.
