# 8player vs Bitflinger TV

The clearest difference is rating: Bitflinger TV at 5.0 against 8player's 2.8. 8player's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (168 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 8player sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year and Bitflinger TV sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bitflinger TV holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 8player has 168 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
