Mirino

Mirino turns your iPhone or iPad into a simple, intuitive star finder. Want to know where a planet or constellation is in the night sky? Choose it from our catalog and follow the guides. Wondering what you're looking at? Just point your device up toward it. Every object comes with a big beautiful picture and a description of what it is and the stories behind it. Mirino focuses on one object at a time, so no confusing screen crowded with stars and paths. Finding and identifying the most interesting things in the night sky is now quick and easy. FIND Choose the Moon, a planet, the Space Station, a star, constellation, galaxy, meteor shower or the Milky Way from the catalog. Guide dots over the live camera view lead you to it, and when your aim is right the target's picture appears over the sky. You can also find where the Sun will set or the Moon will rise. DISCOVER Switch to Discover mode and sweep your device across the sky. Mirino shows you what you're pointing at, with its name and a beautiful image that updates as you move. Turn your device sideways for a big picture, with the live sky behind it. TONIGHT One tap lists the best things to see from where you are tonight: the Moon and its phase, the brightest planets, space station passes, any meteor shower near its peak, and the most notable stars, constellations and deep sky objects. Tap any one and Mirino guides you straight to it. Tap the bell on any of them and Mirino reminds you when to start looking. Or switch on alerts for supermoons, Blue and Harvest Moons, lunar eclipses, meteor shower peaks and planets at their best, all worked out for where you are. A forecast for the dark hours shows cloud cover, the overnight low, wind, fog and rain. Every object shows when it rises, when it's best seen and how bright it is. SEE THE SKY BEHIND THE COMPASS Turn on the SkyScope to see a live view of the sky behind the compass rose. On a dark night, Night Boost automatically brightens the camera view so faint objects show more clearly. Leave it on Auto or set the strength yourself. Constellation images rotate to align with their current angle in the sky. MADE FOR REAL NIGHTS OUT • Sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset, with today's times right on the picker • Golden hour and blue hour times for photographers • All the planets, all 88 official constellations and over 60 of the brightest stars • The International Space Station, China's Tiangong and the Hubble Space Telescope, with their next visible pass and where to look • Meteor showers with peak dates and guidance to their radiant • Brightness and Above Horizon filters show only what you can see right now, adding fainter objects as the sky darkens • Calibrate: center the Moon, Venus or Jupiter in the camera to correct for local compass interference • Red mode turns the screen red to protect your night vision • Works anywhere, fully offline apart from the forecast and satellite orbit updates. No account, no sign-up SIMPLE BY DESIGN No confusing star maps or complicated menus. Just the object you want, and clear guidance to it. Make Mirino your own: swipe between compass styles, from wood and classic brass to modern steel, fur and leather. Choose - Point - Find. Or simply point and Discover. FREE TO USE, ONE PRICE TO OWN The Sun, the Moon, rise and set times, discovered object names, Tonight's list and Moon and eclipse alerts are all free, plus a few tasters from the catalog. A single one-time purchase unlocks everything else: every planet, the ISS, Tiangong and Hubble, all 88 constellations, galaxies, nebulae and star clusters, the brightest stars and meteor showers, each with its image, description, viewing times and reminders. Plus golden and blue hour times and manual Night Boost control. No subscription. No ads. Buy it once and keep exploring the sky.
