# TapTyping vs Type Speed

The clearest difference is monetization model: Type Speed at free against TapTyping's free with in-app purchases. TapTyping's advantage is ratings volume (601 vs 13) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TapTyping sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Type Speed sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for TapTyping against 4.4 for Type Speed. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TapTyping has 601 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two.
