# Dropophone vs Musyc

The clearest difference is rating: Musyc at 4.5 against Dropophone's 3.8. Musyc also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 67 months) and ratings volume (83 vs 13). Dropophone's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and review sentiment (88% vs 78%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Musyc sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Dropophone asks for nothing beyond the download.

Musyc holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Musyc has 83 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Dropophone's written reviews are positive against 78% of Musyc's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dropophone ships an update every 67 months, Musyc every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
