# MyChair vs SalonScale

The clearest difference is rating: MyChair at 4.5 against SalonScale's 2.9. MyChair also leads on ratings volume (429 vs 24). SalonScale's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyChair sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. SalonScale asks for nothing beyond the download.

MyChair holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyChair has 429 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of MyChair's written reviews are positive against 44% of SalonScale's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyChair ships an update fortnightly, SalonScale every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
