# DER STANDARD vs ORF ON

The clearest difference is rating: DER STANDARD at 4.6 against ORF ON's 4.0. DER STANDARD also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). ORF ON's advantage is review sentiment (48% vs 35%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DER STANDARD holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 153 and 127 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of DER STANDARD's written reviews are positive against 48% of ORF ON's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DER STANDARD ships an update every 4 months, ORF ON every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
