# ServiceM8 vs Formitize

The clearest difference is rating: ServiceM8 at 4.6 against Formitize's 4.0. ServiceM8 also leads on ratings volume (833 vs 2). Formitize's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (73% vs 65%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ServiceM8 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Formitize asks for nothing beyond the download.

ServiceM8 holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ServiceM8 has 833 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of ServiceM8's written reviews are positive against 73% of Formitize's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ServiceM8 ships an update monthly, Formitize every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
