# L'Echo vs DH Journal +

The clearest difference is monetization model: L'Echo at free with in-app purchases against DH Journal +'s subscription. L'Echo also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. L'Echo sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and DH Journal + sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

L'Echo ships an update every 2 weeks, DH Journal + every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
