# TV5MONDE vs VDM

The clearest difference is ratings volume: TV5MONDE at 555 against VDM's 6. VDM's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for TV5MONDE against 4.7 for VDM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV5MONDE has 555 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 25% and 25% positive.

TV5MONDE ships an update every 2 months, VDM every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
