# TV5MONDE vs CANAL+

The clearest difference is rating: TV5MONDE at 4.6 against CANAL+'s 3.8. TV5MONDE also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 13). CANAL+'s advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and device support (5 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CANAL+ sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. TV5MONDE asks for nothing beyond the download.

TV5MONDE holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 555 and 516 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of TV5MONDE's written reviews are positive against 33% of CANAL+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TV5MONDE ships an update every 2 months, CANAL+ fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
