# Group SMS Lite vs ABC Contacts

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ABC Contacts at 87% against Group SMS Lite's 25%. ABC Contacts also leads on rating (4.6 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 1). Group SMS Lite's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Group SMS Lite sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and ABC Contacts sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ABC Contacts holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ABC Contacts has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Group SMS Lite ships an update every 6 weeks, ABC Contacts every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
