# MTG Guide vs MTG Scanner Collection Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: MTG Guide at 4.6 against MTG Scanner Collection Tracker's 4.0. MTG Guide also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (726 vs 4). MTG Scanner Collection Tracker's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MTG Guide sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and MTG Scanner Collection Tracker sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MTG Guide holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MTG Guide has 726 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MTG Guide ships an update every 2 months, MTG Scanner Collection Tracker weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
