# MTG Guide vs MTG Card Scanner

The clearest difference is rating: MTG Card Scanner at 5.0 against MTG Guide's 4.6. MTG Card Scanner also leads on monetization model (freemium vs paid). MTG Guide's advantage is ratings volume (726 vs 7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MTG Guide sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and MTG Card Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MTG Card Scanner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MTG Guide has 726 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.
