The clearest difference is review sentiment: FOX Bangor at 100% against WGME 13 News's 22%. FOX Bangor also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.3). WGME 13 News's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 2.8) and ratings volume (190 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
WGME 13 News holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WGME 13 News has 190 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of WGME 13 News's written reviews are positive against 100% of FOX Bangor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
WGME 13 News ships an update every 2 weeks, FOX Bangor monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
