# CGR Cinémas vs mk2

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CGR Cinémas at 82% against mk2's 46%. CGR Cinémas also leads on ratings volume (50 vs 2). mk2's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

mk2 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CGR Cinémas has 50 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of CGR Cinémas's written reviews are positive against 46% of mk2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CGR Cinémas ships an update every 3 weeks, mk2 every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
