# Tutor PRO vs Manipulatives

Tutor PRO and Manipulatives both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Manipulatives's written reviews are positive against 45% of Tutor PRO's. Manipulatives also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). Tutor PRO's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (7.1 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Manipulatives sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Tutor PRO asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Tutor PRO against 5.0 for Manipulatives. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Manipulatives has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of Tutor PRO's written reviews are positive against 100% of Manipulatives's.

Tutor PRO ships an update every 3 months, Manipulatives every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
