# Flashlight ® vs Restoration

The clearest difference is price: Restoration at Free against Flashlight ®'s $4.99. Restoration also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 15 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Flashlight ®'s advantage is ratings volume (16K vs 1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Restoration is free to download; Flashlight ® costs $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Restoration holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashlight ® has 16K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Flashlight ® ships an update every 15 months, Restoration every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
