# Flashlight ◯ vs Flashlight ⊜

The clearest difference is rating: Flashlight ◯ at 4.7 against Flashlight ⊜'s 4.5. Flashlight ⊜'s advantage is ratings volume (42K vs 5.9K). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flashlight ◯ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flashlight ⊜ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flashlight ◯ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashlight ⊜ has 42K ratings behind it against 5.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Flashlight ◯'s written reviews are positive against 81% of Flashlight ⊜'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flashlight ◯ ships an update every 2 months, Flashlight ⊜ every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 2, 2026.
