# Busuu vs Trancy

The clearest difference is ads: Trancy at none against Busuu's shown. Trancy also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Busuu's advantage is ratings volume (101K vs 205) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Busuu sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Trancy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Busuu holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Busuu has 101K ratings behind it against 205, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Busuu's written reviews are positive against 67% of Trancy's.

Busuu ships an update weekly, Trancy monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
