# Busuu vs IPP Formacion

The clearest difference is rating: Busuu at 4.7 against IPP Formacion's 3.0. Busuu also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (101K vs 2). IPP Formacion's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Busuu sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and IPP Formacion sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Busuu holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Busuu has 101K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Busuu ships an update weekly, IPP Formacion every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
