# Flashlight × vs FlashLight

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Flashlight × at 31K against FlashLight's 358. Flashlight × also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3). FlashLight's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (82% vs 68%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flashlight × sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and FlashLight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flashlight × holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashlight × has 31K ratings behind it against 358, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Flashlight ×'s written reviews are positive against 82% of FlashLight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flashlight × ships an update every 4 months, FlashLight monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
