# Flashlight vs Flashlight ○

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flashlight ○ at none against Flashlight's 1. Flashlight ○ also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (29K vs 4.7K). Flashlight's advantage is iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flashlight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Flashlight ○ asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Flashlight against 4.7 for Flashlight ○. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashlight ○ has 29K ratings behind it against 4.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 90% and 91% positive.

Flashlight ships an update every 7 months, Flashlight ○ every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 13, 2026.
