# Trex vs Online Trex

The clearest difference is price: Online Trex at Free against Trex's $2.99. Online Trex also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Trex's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (123 vs 3). On review sentiment, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Online Trex is free to download; Trex costs $2.99 up front. Online Trex sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Trex asks for nothing beyond the download.

Online Trex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trex has 123 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Trex's written reviews are positive against 50% of Online Trex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trex ships an update every 3 months, Online Trex monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and June 1, 2026 respectively.
