# Golf GPS vs Golf GPS++

The clearest difference is rating: Golf GPS++ at 4.6 against Golf GPS's 4.0. Golf GPS++ also leads on ratings volume (4.7K vs 24) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Golf GPS's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 44%) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Golf GPS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Golf GPS++ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Golf GPS++ holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Golf GPS++ has 4.7K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Golf GPS's written reviews are positive against 44% of Golf GPS++'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Golf GPS ships an update every 2 months, Golf GPS++ monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
